In Office Opportunities

Birthright of Grand Junction is run entirely by volunteers. We rely solely on members of the community to provide our services free to pregnant women in need. Birthright welcomes any volunteer who supports the Birthright philosophy and sincerely desires to help pregnant women.

New volunteers receive orientation training and then work a regular shift at the Birthright office (usually 3-4 hours once a week/we can be flexible), partnering with experienced volunteers. Birthright volunteers develop their knowledge and skills through role-modeling with Birthright peers, reading and discussion, and periodic in-service training.

We handle a variety of phone calls, including those from girls and women who may feel overwhelmed or fearful that they may be pregnant. We also help women who come into the office, whether for a free pregnancy test, for referrals and information, or for a welcoming friend. Some volunteers help in other ways, such as sorting and distributing maternity and baby clothes, cleaning the office, or doing administrative work. Experienced volunteers may also assist with technology implementation, fundraising, or presentations to school and community groups about Birthright.

Host a Shower

WE’RE HAVING A BABY SHOWER!

Birthright of Grand Junction is blessed to have many church and civic groups organize baby showers for the benefit of new mothers and their babies. Articles of clothing, blankets, diapers, baby wash, and other toiletry items are collected and donated to help keep the clothing and supply room at Birthright stocked. A mother who has just given birth can visit Birthright and receive a collection of items that will enable her to begin caring for her baby. A Birthright Baby Shower is such a great way to support women in crisis pregnancy situations.

Our Wish List

• Undershirts or onesies, infant gowns and sleepers (0‐3 months)
• Crib sheets and blankets
• Hypoallergenic baby wash and lotion
• Disposable diapers (Newborn and Size 1), wipes and ointment
• Sweaters and jackets (0‐3 months)
• Baby bath towels
• Maternity clothes especially large sizes

Birthright does not accept car seats, cribs, high chairs, play pens or other furniture.

Baby Bottle Campaign

The Baby Bottle Campaign is a fun way to involve your local organization fund raising, awareness, and education campaign.

The Baby Bottle Campaign is our annual Birthright of Columbia fund raising, awareness, and education campaign, available anytime but normally running from Mother’s Day through Father’s Day.

It is a fun way for families to help the moms and babies. The bottles can also be placed in different areas of the workplace.

TRANSLATORS

Volunteers can serve as translators for our clients who speak Spanish, French, Chinese, or other languages.
